out on a limb
I sometimes work in a crazy way. I imagine a photograph and try to find it. This is a composition I have sought for many years. As a kid, I loved to climb trees. I built a many a treehouse. Still wanting that adult treehouse version, but I digress. Live oaks are especially fun to climb. I have known many on the edge of a creek that you can walk right up the trunk and out over the water. I have spent many hours sitting on a big limb watching the tide pass underneath.
I finally found what I was looking for with this tree, the limb, covered in resurrection fern, the Spanish moss raining down everywhere, the repeating pattern of the limbs. There is nothing like being out on a limb.
How the art is finished
All pieces are limited editions and are only available framed. All materials are acid free, glazed, and sealed, under museum glass. The frames are made in Italy of olive wood.
